Ifton Band Oswestry aim is to promote the enjoyment of brass band music both through playing and listening. Founded in 1916 the band became a major force competing in numerous competitions finally reaching section one in the 1990's. Unfortunately the membership dwindled to just six junior members in the mid 90's and almost folded. Through the efforts of the committee and parents the band has been slowly rebuilt through focussing on the younger members of the band. Currently the band membership stands at around 30 players consisting mainly of family members.

The future of the band looks encouraging as the youngsters gain experience and we pick up additional established players. Recently the band achieved Charity Status and hope to raise funds to meet their eventual aim of obtaining a permanent home.
